What Is Super Gut? Product & Ingredient Guide

By Nutritionist Elle

The gut microbiome is something we get asked about a lot, and it's a topic we
think deserves more attention.

That’s what led us to create Super Gut.

Our goal wasn’t to make another probiotic. It was to build a daily gut formula that works at the foundations, using natural and organic ingredients that support your body the way it’s designed to work.

How digestion works

Digestion begins in the mouth and stomach, and most nutrients are absorbed in the small intestine. But when it comes to the gut microbiome, much of the activity happens further along, in the large intestine.

This is where dietary fibre plays an important role. Fibre travels through the digestive system and becomes a fuel source for beneficial gut bacteria. As these bacteria ferment fibre, they produce compounds such as short chain fatty acids.

These compounds are one of the natural by-products of fibre fermentation in the digestive system. Fibre intake and variety can vary a lot from person to person.

Most Australians don’t get enough fibre, and even fewer get a wide variety of fibre types. This diversity matters, as different fibres are fermented by different types of bacteria.

That’s why Super Gut focuses on both fibre quantity and fibre variety.

Super Gut is formulated around four key ingredient categories.

1. Add the good guys

Probiotics are live microorganisms also found in fermented foods.

Super Gut includes three clinically studied strains chosen for their survivability and digestive support.

Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG is a well-studied probiotic strain commonly used in supplement formulations Saccharomyces boulardii is a resilient probiotic yeast often included during times of dietary or lifestyle change Bacillus coagulans is a spore-forming strain that can survive the digestive process and reach the intestines These strains are selected for their stability and compatibility within a daily gut routine.

2. Feed the good guys

Probiotics only work well when they’re properly fed. That’s where prebiotics come in.

Prebiotics are fibres that bypass digestion in the upper gut and reach the large intestine intact. There, they feed your gut bacteria and are fermented into short chain fatty acids.
Super Gut includes a diverse prebiotic blend so different microbes are supported in different ways.

Acacia fibre and partially hydrolysed guar gum are gentle, well tolerated soluble fibres. Green banana resistant starch feeds beneficial bacteria deeper in the colon. Inulin from Jerusalem artichoke and fructooligosaccharides from chicory root help support beneficial species like bifidobacteria.

Each fibre type has a different structure and is fermented at a different rate.

3. Support regularity

Regular bowel movements rely on the right balance of fibre.

Regular bowel movements rely on the right balance of fibre. Soluble fibre helps absorb water and form softer stools

Insoluble fibre adds bulk and supports movement through the digestive tract Super Gut includes both, creating a balanced fibre profile to support laxation with dietary fibre regularity as part of a healthy diet.

Psyllium husk plays an important role here, working alongside the broader fibre blend.

4. Additional Botanicals

As fibre is fermented, it produces a range of natural compounds.

Super Gut also includes botanicals such as aloe vera, ginger and turmeric, which are naturally occurring botanical ingredients.

Why Super Gut feels different

Super Gut isn’t just a probiotic. It’s a comprehensive blend of fibres, probiotics and botanical ingredients.

By combining diverse fibres, selected probiotics and plant-based ingredients, Super Gut is formulated to be part of a balanced diet.

How to use it

Simply add one serve of Super Gut to 250 mL of cold water and mix well.

If you’re new to fibre, start with half a serve and gradually increase. This allows your body time to adjust.

Super Gut was designed with exactly that in mind and is some of my proudest work as a nutritionist.
